In the month of July, we celebrate Sigrblót.
Ā
SigrblótĀ means "Victory Blót". Our ancestors would make offerings to the Ćsir at the start of raiding season to secure victories in their upcoming battles. We celebrate Sigrblót in the heat of summer. We struggle for victories throughout the year on countless fronts. We have enshrined Victory as a noble virtue; more properly Victoriousness. Victory is something to be won, more than that, Victoriousness is a state of existence; being a winner. We must seek the big-āVā Victories, but we must also always take the opportunity to secure small-āvā victories. When we hyper focus on problems disproportionately to solutions, we miss out on opportunities for victories that are within our grasp. When we focus on the things we have the ability to accomplish and commit ourselves to those accomplishments, we stack victories and build a victorious momentum.
Ā
Sigrblót is an opportunity to orient ourselves towards Victory. At Sigrblót we celebrate the victories of the past and simultaneously commit ourselves to victories ahead. We honour our Gods and ancestors with offerings, but we also honour them by success; we seek always to make them proud of us and proud of our accomplishments.
Ā
This month, let your heart dream of victories and set your mind toward achieving them. Inhale victoriousness, let it fill your chest. Hold your head up and project Victory. Be a winner!
Ā
Heill Victory!
