The Ásatrú Folk Assembly is saddened by the passing of our brother, John “Fred” Kilpatrick of Kentucky. He departed Midgard to be with his ancestors June 8th. Fred had been a loyal member of the Ásatrú Folk Assembly since 2017.

He is survived by his domestic partner Sherry, son Kevin, and 2 granddaughters, Guthrun (2) and Thorra (10 months.) as well as his brother, Jerry.

Born to a preacher in Shreveport Louisiana, Fred grew up all over the state, before going to college and settling in Kentucky.

Fred had a PhD in Psychology as well as a BSEE in Engineering. He was also 5th Dan in Aikido, as well as Temple Guard in Kuta.

Fred was a dedicated Ásatrúar, a family man and our kinsman.
