“Vídarr is the name of one, the silent god. He has a thick shoe. He is nearly as strong as Thor; in him the gods have great trust in all struggles.”
Víðarr is the avenger of his father, the son that puts things right, the restorer. Víðarr is the slayer of the wolf. In slaying Fenrir, Víðarr breaks open the ravenous jaws, jaws that seek to devour all that is right and good, all that is beautiful, all that is Order. Víðarr restores Order, Víðarr rights wrongs.
May we stand up for ourselves. May we honor Víðarr by restoring Order and setting wrongs right again. May we be dutiful sons.
